In everyday language, financial loss liability insurance is often referred to as professional indemnity insurance. In the following article, we use the term "professional indemnity insurance" for ease of reading.
Compensation: In the event of damage, professional liability insurance provides compensation in the amount of the damage incurred, but up to a maximum of the agreed insured sum.
Insured activities: In addition to traditional legal work, other legal-related activities are also insured – such as the execution of wills, estate administration, guardianship, care, as well as activities as an arbitrator, mediator or notary representative.
Insurance premiums: The premium amount depends on, among other things, the insured amount, the specialty, any deductible, and the fee income. Particularly favorable conditions apply to start-ups and in-house lawyers.
